Master the art of working with colour in painting. Explore an enjoyable, comprehensive and in-depth course in colour theory.
Course Summary
Colour theory is as important to painting as notes are to a musician.
In this comprehensive course, you will learn both the fundamentals and the highlights of colour theory:
You will learn to mix all colours from the three primary colours; cyan, magenta, and yellow,
you will become familiar with the values of colours and the Impressionists' use of colour effects.
You will learn to create depth in your paintings with colours and the classic methods of combining colours: monochromatic, analogous, complementary, split-complementary, and triadic. You will get to know the Fauves, artists who particularly celebrated colour, and learn about practical challenges with colour in watercolour, acrylic, and oil.
You will discover a great deal about the profound impact colours have on us and reflect on your own colour choices.
Everything is prerecorded and you can repeat as much you want during the five months you have access to the course.
This course is extensive and, by the end, you will feel more confident and find it easier to express yourself with colour.
